GLENGOOLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP
The current position on the Community Field is as follows:
- The Field has now been purchased from Mrs. Breda Quinlan since the end of April.
- Application to the County Council for Outlining Planning Permission is presently being assessed and a result should be known within the next couple of weeks.
- The road way into the field is now ready to be developed anybody wishing to help out are more than welcome, please contact any member of the Committee listed below.
- Five sites are sold pending Outlining Planning Permission. One remaining, anyone interested please contact any Committee member for further details.
- The Auction was an outstanding success and we wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making it such a success. Our Easter Raffle was equally a great success raising over €600.
- We are currently selling Slieveardagh Lotto tickets with the current jackpot standing at €11,000, commission from the sales we make going towards the development of the Community Field. Anybody wishing to join this lotto may do so by contacting any of the Committee Members. By purchasing these Lotto tickets from the Glengoole Development Group you are helping the development of our Community Field. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Slieveardagh Rural Development Group for making this kind gesture.

GOOD SHEPHERD CEMETERY
Next Wednesday evening, 28th May, 2003 at 7.00p.m will be a special night of cleaning at the Good Shepherd Cemetery. We ask all who have any relatives buried in the cemetery to come along at that time.
SENIOR CITIZENS
The monthly get together of Gortnahoe Senior Citizens will be on Thursday, 29th May. It will involve a trip to the Lowry Maher Centre, Tullaroan. The Bus will leave the Community Centre in Gortnahoe at 9.00 p.m.
DRAW
The June draw for Thurles Cathedral and the parish will take place in Cappamore on Wednesday next 4th June. We ask all who pay monthly to please be in touch with your promoter this week.
GORTNAHOE SCHOOL
At the general meeting concerning windows for Gortnahoe School it was agreed to run sponsorship for each of the eighty windows to be replaced. The cost per window will be €125.00. Please support the sponsorship cards and cards can be got from the school or from Fr. ORourke.
COLLECTION
The annual collection for those preparing for the priesthood will be taken up next weekend. Please contribute generously. Envelopes were distributed earlier this year.
CONFIRMATION
Please remember all our children who will receive their Confirmation in Glengoole on Friday, 30th May, at 11.00am. The practice for the Conformation will be on Tuesday night at 7.30p.m. All sponsors or some person in their place please attend.
CARNE TRIP
Will all who are taking the week in Carne Holiday Centre please contact Kathleen Norton early this week to ensure that numbers are known so as to arrange transport etc.
YOUTH CLUB
The trip to Oakwood is on July 8th, price €50.00. For those interested in travelling names and deposit of €10.00 must be given to Sheila Scott or Marian Fogarty by Friday, 23rd May. Balance to be paid by Friday 6th June. Junior club continues this Friday night, so deposits can be given to leaders on the night. Junior Club members are welcome to travel but must be accompanied by parent/guardian.
MEETING
There will be a meeting of everyone interested in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Gortnahoe Hall on Wednesday night, 21st May, at 8.00. We ask every family with relatives buried in the cemetery to attend to ensure that the cemetery will continue to be beautiful.

Three nights for parents giving drugs information will be held at the Old School House, Urlingford on the 15th , 22nd and 29th May from 8 to 9 each night.
DEATH
Sincere sympathy to the Ward family on the death of Edward, formerly of Derryvilla who died in Birmingham. His requiem Mass was in Glengoole on Saturday, May 17th , followed by burial in the Old Cemetery, Ballingarry. May he rest in peace.
GRANGE LADIES CLUB
The annual outing will take place on Tuesday, June 10th. They will visit Farnley House and the Dail. All wishing to travel should submit their names to Noreen Bambrick at 056-34125 or Irene McCormack at 052-56139. The bus will leave Grange at 8 a.m. on that morning.
THANKS
The Pat Lyons Memorial Committee would like to thank everyone who contributed to the memorial fund which enabled them to have a successful launch. To date as a result of video sales they were able to contribute €600.00 to South Tipperary Hospice Movement.
INTER SCHOOL SPORTS
The school sports will be held this Sunday, 25th May at 1.30p.m. All perpetual trophies must be returned to the school immediately.
MILLENNIUM FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE
Millennium Family Resource Centre held their AGM recently in Killenaule. The next meeting will be held in the community centre, Gortnahoe on Monday next, May 26th at 8 p.m. All are welcome.

PARISH DEVELOPMENT
After the launch and introduction of Parish Renewal and Development, a group of those who took part in the Introductory Meetings has formed a Parish Team, to work with the parishioners and the priests to ensure that we will continue to hand on the faith into the future. The members of the Team are Josephine Horan, Joan Morris, Carmel Troy, Teresa Bartley, Robert Hogan, Denis Noonan, Richard Dunne, Fr. ORourke and Fr. OKeffee. Please give them your support and pray that the inspiration of the Holy Spirit will be with us as we work together.

BEREAVEMENT
The death occurred of Noel Campion, Clonamiclon, Gortnahoe on Saturday, 10th May, 2003. Removal took place from Egans Funeral Home on Sunday to Gortnahoe Church, Requiem Mass was on Monday followed by Burial in Graine Cemetery. Noel is deeply mourned by his loving wife Kitty, daughter, Bridget, brothers, sisters, brothers-inlaw, sisters-inlaw, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

LOCAL MAN FOR STRONG MAN NATIONALS
Congratulations to Tony Watson, Gortnahoe who qualified for the combined Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland finals for the Strong Man competition held recently in Thurles Greyhound Track. The finals will be held in Wicklow Town, at the end of July.
