  • Christopher Treacy, London, formerly Ballynonty, whose funeral Mass takes place in Urlingford on Monday followed by interment in Aglish cemetery.
  • Eileen Ryan (née Kelly), Johnstown, formerly Georgespark. Funeral Mass this Sunday at 11.00am in Johnstown followed by interment in St. Kieran’s cemetery, Johnstown.
  • Owen Brennan, Thurles, formerly Lickfinn whose funeral took place last week with burial in Glengoole cemetery.

  • Holy Saturday             
    Easter Vigil of the Lord’s Resurrection, Glengoole 7pm.
  • Easter Sunday             
    Easter Day of the Lord’s Resurrection, Gortnahoe 10.30am.
  • Confessions for Easter  
    After the ceremonies on Holy Thursday and Good Friday.

Eucharistic Ministers
Following a recommendation from the ‘Liturgy Group’ of the Diocesan Pastoral Council, all current Ministers of the Eucharist are asked to attend the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday evening at 7pm in Glengoole Church to renew their commitment of their ministry for another year.

Chrism Mass on Wednesday next, 27th March
A Chrism Mass, at which the Holy Oils to be used for the various sacraments will be blessed, will be held in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles on Wednesday next, 27th March at 7.00pm.  The Archbishop extends an open invitation to all to attend.

Annual Collection on Good Friday
Annual Collection for the upkeep of the Holy Places will be taken up on Good Friday. Easter Collection for the Clergy (White envelope in box) will be taken up next weekend. Trocaire boxes or envelopes can be returned this week at any of the ceremonies.

The Rosary
The Rosary will be recited on St Patrick's day at St Patrick's well in Ballinalackin cemetery at 2 pm.

Holy Communion
Holy Communion for coeliacs (gluten free) is available at all Masse

Defibrillator machines decommissioned
The Defibrillator machines at Mary Willie's, Grange and Ballysloe have been decommissioned. In the case of any emergency please call 999.

'A Million Medleys' a special concert by Michael English
Michael English and his Band on Sunday April 7th, Premier Hall, Thurles – A Million Medleys – a special concert of globally loved million selling hits. Proceeds in aid of the Cathedral Re-roofing Project.

Summer time
Summer time begins next Sat night/Sun morning and all clocks go forward ONE hour.

(Today, Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion,
marks the beginning of Holy Week)

During this week we celebrate the mysteries of salvation accomplished by Christ on the final days of his life on earth, beginning with the foretelling of Christ’s regal entrance into Jerusalem and the proclamation of the passion and concluding with the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday and celebration of Christ’s resurrection.
The Lenten season ends on Thursday next.
