October Devotions in Glengoole on Sunday at 7.00pm.

First Communion
The programme “Do This In Memory” preparing the families of children for First Communion begins in the parish this week-end, in Gortnahoe on Saturday night and in Glengoole on Sunday morning.

Thanks
Sincerest thanks to all who contributed to the October Collection for the archbishop and priests of the diocese last week-end. If you have overlooked it, please contribute as soon as possible. 

Church Contributions
We are now in our third month since the start of Year Two of the Church Restoration Contributions. The generous contributions of all parishioners are essential, as it is a  big undertaking. Make sure you have paid your contributions as soon as possible.

Meeting
There will be a meeting of all Eucharistic Ministers in the parish in Ballysloe School on Tuesday night at 7.30.

Youth Ministry
A Two Year Youth Ministry Course for the diocese, in St. Patrick’s College, Thurles, will begin in January 2007. Information evenings by Fr. Slattery will be held in the Parish Centre, Cashel on Thursday 12th October at 8.00 and in St. Mary’s Hall, Killenaule on Tues. 17th October at 8.00.   Names please to Fr. O’Keeffe or Fr O’Rourke.

Classes
First Aid Classes for eight weeks, conducted by The Order of Malta, will begin in the Ballynonty Community House on Monday 9th October from 7.30 to 9.30. Names to Teresa McGarry at 052 56540 or any committee member.

Meals
The Family Resource Centre, Glengoole invites all Senior Citizens to a hot meal in the Centre each Wednesday, starting on Wednesday next, 11th October at 1.00. Cost €3.00. More information about transport to Glengoole by Ring a Link, etc.  from the Centre at 052 57992.

Gortnahoe Senior Citizens
An afternoon outing to Mount Juliet Estate, Thomastown has been arranged for Thursday, 12th October, 2006.  Bus will leave the Community Hall at  1.30 p.m.  Cost is €15.  This includes bus, 30 minute guided tour of the estate and tea/coffee and scones.  Anyone wishing to travel please give names as soon as possible to Post Office, Fr. O’Keeffe, Noreen Bambrick or any member of the committee. All are welcome.

Junior Hurling
Congratulations to the Junior hurlers on their victory over  Thurles KRF by 0-15 to 2-5 last week-end. We meet Holycross-Ballycahill next week-end in the Final. Consult Star for details.

Meeting
There will be a Committee meeting on Friday night 13th October.

Gun Club Meeting
There will be a meeting of Gortnahoe-Glengoole Gun Club in Prouts , Gortnahoe on Friday night 13th October at 9.00.

Clothes Collection for Missions
There will be a collection of clothes to help the missions in Gortnahoe and Glengoole Halls on Tuesday next, before lunch.

Jesus, you had to go as an emigrant to Egypt as a baby, we ask you to help all who have to leave their own country to seek employment. May they be fulfilled in their lives and bring the gift of faith to wherever they go and be welcomed in the country where they now live. Amen.
