Envelope Collection 2014
Thank you for your generosity and support during 2013. A box of envelopes for the various Collections in 2014 will be distributed to you before the First Sunday in January, namely this week.

A new envelope is included in the box; a weekly offering envelope. This weekly envelope is for the weekly offering you and members of your family put in the basket at the Offertory Collection. The parish is losing out by not recording your contribution to the basket each week.
A charity, e.g. the parish of Gortnahoe Glengoole, receiving donations from someone amounting to €250 in the course of the year, is entitled to a rebate of 31%, if certain conditions are fulfilled. One of these conditions is that the donations are recorded. That is the reason for the new weekly offering envelope. If the weekly contributions, added to the other collections during the year, reach the threshold of €250, the parish can get 31% of the total back from Revenue. It is difficult to make ends meet – for households and parish – and it would be a shame to miss out on this rebate simply because we do not record your weekly contributions. Please make every effort to use this new envelope.

Once again thank you for your generosity and support.

A Parish Envelopes Distributers Meeting will be held this Monday night in Gortnahoe Hall at 8.00. We appeal to all families who have been distributers to kindly come along to this Meeting, so that all the boxes of envelopes for the people of the parish will reach their destination before Sunday next. We invite also people who have not been usual distributers but who are willing to help to please come along. It is just one round of the parish that is involved for the whole of 2014.
