Gluten Free Holy Communion
Gluten Free Holy Communion is available at all Masses.

Eucharistic Adoration
Glengoole Wed 10am to 2pm 
Gortnahoe Thurs 10am to 1pm.
Come sit awhile in silent prayer.

The Rosary
The Rosary will be recited before Mass in Glengoole every Saturday evening.

Cemetery Masses
Cemetery Masses at 7.30pm in each of the parish cemeteries on the following dates:

  • Tues, July 8th – Ballinalackin cemetery
  • Thurs, July 10th – Good Shepherd Cemetery
  • Thurs, July 31st – Fennor Graveyard
  • Tues, Aug 12th  – Boulick Cemetery

In the event of inclement weather, masses will be celebrated in either Glengoole or Gortnahoe Churches

Clergy Collection
The second collection for the support of the clergy of the Archdiocese (active and retired) will be taken up next weekend (white envelope in box of envelopes). Parish target is €31,536 and €9,045 has been received and paid to the Diocesan office. Your generosity is appreciated. Cheque payments to Gortnahoe Parish Account.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Two hour Vigil in Bothar Na Naomh church on Tuesday 15th July. Rosary at 6.30pm, Mass 7pm and Holy Hour 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Also enrolment in the brown scapular of our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Be strong in the Lord
Human Life International Ireland 32 County Mission Event with relics of St Threses and The Holy Face in Bothar Na Naomh on Thursday, 10th July for 7pm to 9.30pm. Guest speaker Fr Shenn Boquet (USA)

Retirement Celebration
in recognition of Dr Eilis and Pat Maher, Marie Egan and Mary Fogarty and their 30 years of dedicated service to the community, a celebration will be held in St Kieran’s Community Hall, Johnstown on 5th July at8.30pm. All are welcome, young and old. Refreshments on the night and music by Sweet Freedom.

Church Fundraiser/Holiday change
For the past 10 years, Fr. Walton has collected foreign coins from his fellow priests to convert into euro as a fundraiser for a priest building a second Church in his parish in Iceland due to a growing Catholic population. If over the coming months you’re travelling to USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Poland, U.A.E., Turkey, Czechia Republic, Ghana, Indonesia, South Africa, etc and require small change/coin, Fr. Walton will give what he has for a small donation in euro towards the Church in Iceland.

Open Garden Clough Farmhouse Clonoura, Glengoole E41K765, on Sunday 6th July, 1pm to 5pm. Proceeds to Mo Chara Animal Rescue and Thurles and District Flower and Garden Club.

Annual Famine 1848 Walk
19th Annual Famine 1848 Walk will be led by Senator Imelda Goldsboro on Saturday 26th July at 3pm starting at the National Flag monument in The Commons and proceeding to the Famine Warhouse 1848. Music and refreshments, all are welcome.
