Collection
The Christmas Collection for the archbishop and priests of the diocese will be taken up at Masses next week-end. We ask you to give what you are asked, including arrears. We ask the usual collectors to attend.
Visiting the sick
Holy Communion will be brought to the sick and housebound of the parish on Friday morning next. If there are any who are unable to be out at Mass for Christmas, the priests will gladly bring them Holy Communion on Friday morning. Please let them know.
Gortnahoe Folk Choir
The final practice for the choir in preparation for Christmas Eve Mass will be held in the Church next Wed. night at 8.00.
Carol Service
The children of Gortnahoe School will hold a Carol Service in Gortnahoe Hall on Wednesday night at 7.30. Everyone is invited.
Thanks
The local conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society express their sincerest thanks to all for their generosity to the recent Church Gate Collection. € 1122.74 was contributed.
Church Restoration Funds
A very special Bingo night is being organised by Gortnahoe Community Association on Saturday next 23rd December in aid of the Gortnahoe Church Restoration Fund. They look forward to full support from parishioners, Bingo players and others. Wonderful prizes for the Bingo and the raffle.
Open Day
The Millennium Family Resource Centre are holding their annual Mulled wine/mince pie open day on Wednesday 20th Dec. from 12.30 to 2.00. Everyone is invited.
Charity Dance
You are all invited to the 3rd Annual Benefit Dance in aid of Sr. Anne Healy’s Appeal Fund. It will be in Gortnahoe Hall on Thursday night 28th December from 9.00 to 12.00. Tickets €5.00. A great night.
Parish Annual
The Parish Annual is now available and is on sale in the church and in the local shops. It is a great read and a beautiful gift to those who have left the parish. The cost is € 7.00.
G.A.A.
The new Club gear will be on sale in Gortnahoe Community Centre from 4.30 to 7.00 on Saturday 23rd Dec and from 11.30 to 12.00 on Sunday 24th. These will make a great Christmas present.
At the Mid Convention our club was awarded the Mid Intermediate/Junior Club of the Year, a great honour for the Club. Each Club received points for success on the playing field, attendance at meetings, discipline, standard of club grounds and referees reports. Well done to the Club.
