Church Restoration
As we begin a new calendar year it is a suitable time to look at how you stand in regard to your commitments to the Gortnahoe Church Restoration Fund. If your subscriptions are not up to date, we encourage you very sincerely to make your contributions during the month of January or immediately, if possible. We are most grateful for the great generosity of the parishioners.
Gortnahoe National School Parents Council
Sincerest thanks to Gortnahoe National School Parents Council for their most generous donation of €500 from the funds they had raised to Gortnahoe Church Restoration Fund.
Benefit Dance
Sincerest thanks to all who contributed in any way to the enjoyable and successful Benefit Dance for Sr. Ann Healy’s Missionary Fund, held in Gortnahoe Community Hall on Dec. 28th. Special thanks to the Hall Committee, ticket sellers, those who gave hampers, prizes for raffle and those who gave private donations.
GAA Convention
The adjourned Convention of the Club will take place on Friday 26th January. Nominations for selectors for all grades can now be received.
The Dinner Dance will be on Friday 16th February in the Anner Hotel. Music by Midnight Run. Tickets available from Club officers, the Post Office and Vincent’s shop and P.J. Kavanagh’s public house.
Because of demand, club gear will again be available in the Community Hall, Gortnahoe on Friday 26th January from 6.30 to 8.00. Get your order in now.
Glengoole Drama Group
Glengoole Drama Group will stage two One Act plays in Glengoole Hall on Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st January, commencing at 8.30. Adults € 10.00. Children € 5.00. Family concessions on the night.
Parish Calendar
Extra copies of our Parish Calendar for 2007 are available at the end of the church if you have not received one or you live outside the parish. You are most welcome to take one.
Parish Annual
The Parish Annual is now available and is on sale in the church and in the local shops. It is a great read and a beautiful gift to those who have left the parish. The cost is € 7.00.

Baptism Remebrance Prayer
Jesus, we thank you for our call to Baptism.
By water and the Holy Spirit you gave us new life,
A sharing in your own divine life.
Though we are unfit to undo the strap of your sandals,
We beg of you to renew the grace of our Baptism,
And to give us some of your ability at prayer,
So that on us also the Holy Spirit may descend. Amen.
